Manchester Wrestling is a Junior League Wrestling Program based out of Manchester, Maryland.  The team is part of the North Carroll Rec Council, and competes in the Maryland Junior Wrestling League (MJWL) and the Carroll County Wrestling Association (CWA).  The MJWL is comprised of approximately 24 teams from throughout the state of Maryland, and the CWA is comprised of approximately 4 teams in Carroll County.

Manchester Wrestling was founded in 1974 by Ken Kiler, who is now a member of the National Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame and the Carroll County Sports Hall of Fame.  Ken started the program using gymnastics mats taped together to practice on.  The program has since grown to be one of the top Junior League Wrestling Programs in the state of Maryland.  Over the years, Manchester Wrestling has produced many skilled wrestlers including an NCAA Division I All American, a Junior College 2x National Champion, many Division I wrestlers, and High School State Champions in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Manchester Wrestling's Mission is to provide young athletes with a solid foundation in the sport of wrestling while also teaching the core values of integrity, discipline, and mental toughness.  Our goal is to develop our youth not only into better wrestlers, but also to help them become better individuals prepared for the world in which they live.

The upcoming season begins on November 5th and ends in late February/early March. We have a beginner program (CWA) and a more advanced program (Navy/Lehigh). Practices take place at Manchester Valley High School/North Carroll High School on Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 8pm, and matches and tournaments are on Saturday or Sunday. Registration is $100 per wrestler, and registration includes use of a singlet (uniform), shorts and a long sleeve Manchester Wrestling shirt for the child to
keep, all practices, and payment for all league matches and tournaments. Additional information can be found on our Facebook Page or our page on League Lineup, and please also feel free to contact Kyle Smith ( or Andy Kiler ( (443-244-0276).

While open to all, this program is sponsored by Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks and the North Carroll Rec Council, and is intended for the Manchester/Hampstead Area. You can register for the upcoming season now on Stone Alley
