Session Details

The Kingsville Recreation program is currently registering for Spring Outdoor Women's Lacrosse. We have early deadlines from the lacrosse league this year for reporting our team numbers.

About Women's/Girl’s Lacrosse

Women's lacrosse is a fast moving game with lots of running and passing. The rules of women's Lacrosse have significant differences from the men's game. Women's lacrosse is a non-contact sport. Men’s lacrosse allows shoulder checking, women’s lacrosse does not. Stick checking is allowed (freeing the ball from an opponent's stick by striking their stick with your own stick). However, stick checking is introduced gradually. There is no stick checking at all in Tykers league play (ages 7-8) and modified checking up to the Juniors level. Other differences between women's lacrosse and men's is a shallower 'pocket' on the women's stick head requiring better stick control, and women must execute a 'real' scoop for ground balls.

Age determination for all Lacrosse age groups is the player's age as of last August 31, 2017.

Our Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association Travel league is requiring team counts in early February, so please register as soon as possible. Currently we have coaches for the Junior group only (ages 13-14). If you can coach at another age level, please let us know and we will start registration for that age group.
