Retreat Overview

There are some changes for this year’s retreat! Change can be new and exciting but it can also be a bit confusing. Therefore we are going to do our best to explain everything. Please read this very carefully.

  • Once again we will be at the Country Cupboard/ Best Western Plus in Lewisburg, PA for the 2018 retreat.
  • Just like last year, lodging will be in the Best Western Plus while meals* and the main sessions will be in the Colonel John Kelly Room inside the Country Cupboard restaurant. There is a short outside walk from building to building.
    (*Complimentary breakfast is included in the price of the room or you may choose to eat breakfast at the Country Cupboard restaurant on your own at an additional cost.)
  • Registration Fee: This fee goes to pay the cost of speakers, international workers, and worship team, which can include travel, honorariums, lodging, and meals. The fee also pays for use of the rooms we meet in and use, and audio/visual needs for this retreat. The fees are as follows:
    • Registration Only (No Meals): $40
    • Student Registration Only (ages 22 & under, No Meals): $10
    • Registration & All Meals: $100
    • Student Registration & All Meals: $76.50
    • Separate Meals: Friday Night: $25.50; Saturday Lunch: $16.50; Saturday Night: $25.50 (these prices include food, beverage, dessert, and tip)
  • Breakfast is included in the price of the hotel room and will be in the lobby of the Best Western Hotel. It is served from 6:30-9:30 am. Those not staying at the Best Western may purchase breakfast at the Country Cupboard at an additional cost.
    On Saturday afternoon we are offering 5 breakout sessions. We need you to pre-register for these sessions. Opt to join in the sessions or utilize your own free time.
    • 1A - Cupcake decorating by the Country Cupboard staff ($2.00 fee)
    • 1B - Women In Crisis - Dr. Patti Stoudt
    • 2A - GCW Best Practices - Marianne Yohn
    • 2B - Missions Focus -Into the Unknown - Kelly & Courtney Sangrey
  • LODGING will be in the Best Western Plus adjacent to the Country Cupboard. They are in separate buildings with a very short walk between the two. This year, you must fill out a form to reserve your room. Please do not call the hotel. You may send in your form to the hotel via email, fax, or U.S. Mail so that it reaches the hotel by the deadline of February 9, 2018. After this date, the rooms that are not reserved will go on sale to the general public and our special price will not be guaranteed. Room rate is $119 plus 11% tax. You may have up to 4 in each room. The hotel information is on the enclosed form.

  • Please do not wait until the last minute to register for the retreat or your hotel room. When sessions or meals are full,
    that part of the registration will close. We have made some changes in the amount and arrangement of the seating in the Colonel Kelly room, which will allow us more seating room, however, we will still have a cut-off number.
  • The Retreat Brochure should be printed to hand out to the women of your church. Please also print one copy of the
    Additional Retreat Information for each woman who is registering for the retreat.
  • Main Session attendance. Once again, you will need to register your Main Session attendance. We need to keep careful track of who will attend each session as well as each meal so that we make sure that everyone who wants to come, can come.
  • Registering for Retreat. We received good responses about the online registration process and therefore we are going to do it again. Stone Alley has done some tweaking to the site, so hopefully you will find it a bit more user friendly. Through this online registration you will be able to not only register for retreat, but you will be able to pay via credit card if you wish. If you would prefer to pay by check, please send the check, made payable to the Eastern PA District, to Ruth Smith at the address below. Look for a step-by- step list of how to register online enclosed with this letter. Each woman may register herself. If one person wants to register all ladies who are coming to retreat from your church, that is fine also. A privacy policy for Stone Alley (our registration company) is available at this link Again, please do not wait until the last minute to register. You must register online by Friday, February 9. You will no longer be able to register online after this.
  • If you would like the retreat registrar (Ruth) to enter your information into the online program, please send the completed Individual Registration forms (from the brochure), the Church Registration Form and one check per church (made payable to Eastern PA District). This information must be mailed to Ruth no later than Friday, February 9.
