Due to the current hold in place from Baltimore County parks and recs we are shutting down registration. As of right now the start to our season will be delayed due to this. Once we have more information we will be able to open up for more registrations. Should you have any questions please reach out to the email listed below.

General Information

Overlea-Fullerton Girls Softball is affiliated with the Overlea-Fullerton Recreation Council. Our program is organized and coached by parent/volunteers. OFGS offers opportunities for girls ages 5-18 in 4 separate age groups to learn the fundamentals of the game along with teamwork and advanced levels of play and competion. All age groups welcome all skill levels from beginner to
advanced.

Age Groups

OFGS is comprised of 4 age groups based on girls age as of January 1 st . Our CLINIC (5-7), is our “FUN” league. This league focuses on FUN and FUNdamentals. Girls learn to throw, run bases and hit. A tee is used as needed, however we encourage girls to hit without it. Teams in this age group meet Wednesday and Friday.

Our MINOR (8-10) is a transition league. More time is spent on improving the fundamentals as well as incorporating pitching, catching and fielding. This league also starts competitive play as teams will be seeded for a double elimination tournament. Sportsmanship is introduced through this type of play. These girls will meet on Tuesday and Thursday.

The JUNIOR (11-13) league will find most players honing their skills in one or two positions. The work on fundamentals continues with more advanced drills. The importance of team work, hustle and determination start making sense as most girls in this age group are playing for the love of the game and are preparing for the next level of play. This could be travel league or high school team. This age group meets Monday and Wednesday.

The SENIOR (14-18) league is a great league for players to shine after many years of hard work. While still working on individual skills and drills most players here love their team. Teamwork, hardwork, determination, sportsmanship and FUNdamentals all come together here. This age group meets Monday and Thursday.

Additional Information

Our season starts April 1 st and ends mid June around the end of the school year. Our practice nights are the same as our game nights with both starting at 6pm. There may be some movement of games depending on the weather. Our opening day ceremonies will be held on a Saturday in late April with our parade, games, dj, food and more. We wrap up our season with an end of year party in Early June. We have found this to be the perfect wrap to the season for coaches and parents.

Volunteers are what makes our program. Parents who volunteer to coach are just part of the need. We also need help with the concession stand, equipment, opening day, end of year celebration and donations just to name a few. If you are interested in helping in anyway feel free to contact me Brandan Spiegel at brandan.spiegel@gmail.com or reach out to your coach. Our board meets the 4 th Thursday of the month at the Fullerton Community Center and all are welcome and encouraged to attend.
