PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The Gamber Mustangs are affiliated with the Central Carroll Rec Council and the Gamber Optimist Club. Our practices and home games are held at the Deer Park fields, in Westminster, MD. The Gamber Mustangs Football program is a member of the Mountain Valley Youth Football League (MVYFL).

Mini-camp will begin in late July, and the season will go from late August until Mid November.

LEVELS:

FLAG: Age: 6 & Under (Must be 6 by August 31st) Weight Limit: None

• Flag football is for children age 5 and 6. The only equipment used is a flag belt, mouthpiece and cleats. Basic concepts in football are addressed at this level.

MINI-PONY: Age: 8 & Under (Must be 8 by August 31st) Weight Limit: 110 lbs.

• Mini-pony division is primarily for children age 7-8 years old. Basic team concepts in offense and defense as well as learning specific positions will be an important part of the team experience.

PONY: Age: 10 & Under (Must be 10 by August 31st) Weight Limit: 135 lbs.

• The pony division is primarily for children age 9-10 years old. These contests are played under complete game regulations inclusive of special teams. This division is a great opportunity for participants to begin playing full contact football in true game situations. First time players and experienced players are welcome.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Age: 12 & Under (Must be 12 by August 31st) Weight Limit: 150 lbs.

• The JV division is primarily for children age 11-12 years old. These contests are played under complete game regulations inclusive of special teams. This division is a great opportunity for participants to further develop their full contact football skills or learn them for the first time. New players and experienced players are welcome.

*Maximum grade eligible for Junior Varsity Team (Age 12), is 7th.

VARSITY: Age: 14 & Under (Must be 13 by August 31st)

Varsity Weights by position

- Tackle to Tackle – Unlimited Weight
- 13 year old : 150 lbs. to carry ball and positions off the line.
- 14 year old : 135 lbs. to carry ball and positions off the line.

The varsity level prepares players mentally and physically for the next step of their football careers. New and experienced players are welcome.

*Maximum grade eligible for Varsity Team is 8th

NOTE: Age is based on an August 31st birth date of the current playing season.

There is a weigh-in prior to the seasons' first game and a mid-season weigh-in to determine continued eligibility. A copy of the player's birth certificate must be provided on or before August 14th. Age is based on a September 1st birth date of the current playing season.

DRAW AREA

Football players must be in one of the following Draw Areas:

• Westminster High School
• Winters Mill High School
• Oklahoma Middle School
• Sykesville Middle School

Additionally, All Elementary & Middle schools that feed into the above schools.

FOOTBALL REGISTRATION FEES

Tackle Football Registration fee is $150, and includes the use of the following:

• Helmet
• Practice and game pants with pads
• Shoulder Pads
• Practice jersey
• (1) Mouth piece

Flag Football registration fee is $25, and includes the use of the following items:

• (1) Mouth piece
• Practice Flags
• Game Flags

Personalized Reversible Jerseys for all Football Levels

You will be required to pay for your jersey at time of sizing, which will take place in May (dates TBD).  The jersey cost is $70.

REGISTRATION DISCOUNTS

Early Bird Discount for Tackle Football:

Register by April 15, 2022, and get $25 off the cost of registration.

Sibling Discount:

- Receive $15.00 off of the 2nd paid football registration
- Receive $30.00 off of the 3rd and 4th paid football registrations.

- Email us if you will be registering more than 4 children in our program.

Note: Flag registration will not be counted as part of the registration discount, because the full registration cost goes towards the cost of the personalized game jersey.

A cheer registration will count as a paid sibling.

To receive the sibling discount, the children must be living in the same household.

Refund Policy

All refund requests will be dispositioned on a case by case basis. Should any refund be issued, a $10.00 administrative fee will be assessed to cover non-refundable fees incurred by the program. Refund requests will not be granted after August 15, 2023.
